Church Conversion

Style Concept: Bright Open Sky
800 SF | Carroll Gardens, Brooklyn, NY  | Gut Renovation and Interior Design

Residential church conversion homes are always unique with character. This project included surprising niches and dreamy ceiling arches. We knocked down the wall that enclosed the gallery floor.

This opened up the loft and allowed light and uninterrupted flow to the entire layout. We framed the gallery with a dark black metal railing, which complements the verticality of the space.

The original arches were painted a light color to avoid defining the edges, and to allow an open sky feel. The traditional wooden kitchen was replaced with a new modern design, white on white with a touch of super light grey concrete like counter top.

Contemporary elegant light fixtures were carefully selected in black and brass to tie it all together, staring the long cord pendants hanging from the arches above the dining area, allowing the eye to fully appreciate the height and character of this space.
