Urban Grand Living
Style Concept: Traditional Meets Contemporary
4000SF | Sherman Ave. Washington D.C. | Gut Renovation & Top Floor Addition
This client invested in a beat down property of an up and coming neighborhood in Washington D.C. We completely gutted and re-built this house ground up, including a new top floor, a roof top, new structure, new plumbing and electrical - the works.
What was once a single-family, three-story home, was transformed in to a two family four-story double duplex building. The goal was to create an efficient yet grand layout to be enjoyed by a young family looking to expand from tiny center city living.
The open layout allows for a seamless transition from one room to another and creates a smooth flow of motion. We insisted on high ceilings to complement the relatively narrow nature of town homes. The materials selected are a cross between traditional and contemporary, a continuous cool marble counter top and backsplash, creates a sleek wink to the traditional wholesome dark maple wood floors.
