Style Concept: Functionality Meets Fashion

What was once a textile factory in the heart the fashion district of NY, is now an inspiring modern-day apartment. This dark, vintage space from the 60’s featured low ceilings, which hid the building’s constructive beams. We kick started the project by exposing and molding these original beams in to subtle linear space dividers, welcoming in light and air and an undeniable breath to the space.
All partitions were demolished in order to introduce a refreshingly lofty layout, with an airy kitchen, wine fridge and a hosting island. We integrated a wealth of cabinets under the window seals and kitchen bar, as well as added a large walk in closet to allow for smart storage solutions.
Ultimately, this narrow downbeat space was refined into an inviting and spacious home.
The concrete inspired kitchen backsplash, sleek white cabinets and warm country-esque hardwood floors helped create the perfect texture balance and allowed for a rich contemporary edge. We also added the gold brass touch to the bathroom fixtures for a balance to the popularly affordable subway tiles.
